The work stages a closed loop between image and material: a photographic capture of a tree is burned back into wood, returning its representation to the substance of its former life.

This circuit foregrounds how "nature" is continually reauthored through technical systems that promise access while enforcing distance. By shifting the tree from organism to image to industrial material, the piece interrogates what survives translation across these regimes of mediation, what residue of the living persists, and what is overwritten.
